Hey guys!

Alot of people don't really know what work has been put into the Fps Creator source, so I thought I would show you
I made a video that I uploaded to youtube like 10 minutes ago
It scrolls past all of the fpsc version 1.07 source. (really fast)
Kind of like a nice tribute to the modders (and Lee) that have worked their butts off to give the community what they want.

It really gives you an idea of what type of work is involved,
its a thanks to modders like Airslide and Plystire, Nighthawk, S4real, and co. Shows the source behind the fpsc game engine for people that do not own DarkBASIC Professional or DarkLIGHTS,
makes you realize (the first time I opened the source) how much they have to work to make everyone happy

So here it is:

Comments welcome.

Thanks, Rampage!

Just one thing... an efxMod developer has to deal with nearly 38,000 lines of code... growing very fast, splitted up onto more than 25 source files (we're splitting up the complete engine)
It's hard work to keep track of everything and that's why things last comparatively long.

Good to see someone showing, what every of us modders does, to all the non-coders around.

Another Edit,

Too many people flippantly posting offensive words or terms in posts all around these forums. It can turn up anywhere. The Mods are not going to keep asking you nicely not to do it or forever keep telling you not to do it.

If I keep seeing it occur I, and I am sure the other Mods too will start taking action to stop it.

You know the Rules and continue to ignore them. Think before doing it or you will pay a penalty.

Doesn't that make you wonder how large the DBPro Source code is...

Yea, especially since it is written in C++. Meaning its not just loads of simple commands.

I know that this is a big bump... But, what you've shown is basically what Lee Bamber has to do, not what modders do. Once upon a time I had a go at a fresnel water mod. All I had to do was find a space and type in the code and it worked. I'm not a pro, but that doesn't seem like a lot of work.

Or what Lee did.......

I guess we don't give that guy enough credit for this, 24-8 thousand lines of code!? My DBP creation amounts to about 300, lol!

My college Capstone project, Cyber Wars: Age of AI, that I wrote in C++ amounted to about 96,000+ lines of code.... putting all the project files together.

I think what the thread is about is that it takes a bit of ability to manipulate the source in a way that brings about the desired result.

And yes... adding Bloom is only a matter of adding the right subroutines to the right places, but would you have any clue how to go about adding dual-wield, iron sights, FPI variable system, timer based movement, FPI controlled camera system, water, water physics (on entities as well as player), alternate weapon firing modes, etc, etc, etc?

Those are some the things that take a bit more ability than adding a couple sub routines to the source and putting in a call to them.

Lee is a source modder himself, so he is part of it too. I did this to give people an idea of what it is like to even try to mod it, because people always are like "Yo Lee my hommie G in the hiz nik house, put sum mutha f'n water is fpsc unit gangsta what!!!" before they realize how much of a job it is.
And

But that's like... making FPSC, just in C++!
