All you ever see anymore in films are bullets whizzing past your face in slow motion! Enough! My gawd if one more friggin' movie copies bullet-time I'm gonna do something so bad I don't even know what it is yet

Stop taking them seriously. If you don't like action movies, don't watch them. If you can't just sit back, ignore the plot, and appreciate the fight scenes, then move on to something like drama, or modern Shakespeare-scripted films (which I personally despise)...

Are you kidding? I love action movies! Maybe I was exaggerating when I said that I'm sick of movies. Really what I'm sick of is seeing bullets fly by in slow motion. Seriously, it's getting old. And why would I want to ignore the plot? I take it what you meant was "ignore the bullets flying by in slow motion" - the plot is good; it's the action that tends to be repetitive. By the way, I'm not watching Shakespeare.

Try Pirates of the Carribian, if you wanna see a good action movie. It involves no slow motion bullets too, lol.

Ok, if you don't like bullet time that's okay by me, sorry . The only movie I've really liked it in since the Matrix was Matrix 2, because of that excellent explosion fly-around. Always wanted to see something like that in slomo. I bet I'll be right sick of it by Matrix 3 tho, unless they pull some more neat tricks.

It's not that I don't like bullet time, it's that I'm sick of it being copied. By the way, bullet time is more than bullets flying by in slow motion...it's pretty much rotating or moving a camera freely around in slow motion (or making it look like it anyway).

Movies that have copied it?

The One
S.W.A.T.
Bullet-Proof Monk
Bad Boys 2

Do I need to name more...cuz if I do...*shakes fist*

- I dunno...I usually end up hating a movie if the plot is crappy. Unless its a b-horror movie..those are funny!

If your talking about one still frame, and rotating around that then that isn't bullet time, that was invented before the Matrix. Not to be confused.

Got that right!

Oh, and I thought Bullet-Proof Monk was supposed to be a Matrix-parody, I never watched it but that's the impression I got from the trailers I saw.

the only thing i remember seeing it in before the matrix was a gap commercial. other than that, i can't remember much of anything.

and really i don't think it has to involve bullets, because in the Matrix Revisited i'm pretty sure i recall them talking about the famous opening scene with trinity and the camera rotating around - and they referred to it as bullet time. don't quote me or anything, i'd have to watch revisited again to find out.

I think we need more Spaceballs quality Spoofs. Lok at the last couple we had. Mafia, Not anothoer Teen Movie, Scary Movie 2 (Hell is full of paper cuts, hangnails, tooth aches, and Scary Movie 2); these movie are CRAP. How I long for spoofs on par with Hot Shot 1 & 2, Airplane, and Spaceballs.

I totally agree. Hot Shots 1 & 2 have got to be the best comedy/spoofs I've ever seen, they don't revolve around sex and disgusting acts but rather around quality humour and rediculous story lines.

Ever notice when they come out with a new effect then EVERY frigging movie has to have it? When the Abyss came out with their cgi water dude, then all of a sudden everybody had to have a cgi thing in their movie (eg Forest Gump). When Independance Day had the cgi cars flying by then there were like 8 more movies with big car-throwing explosions just like it. The most salient example is the matrix stop-motion pans and rotation shots. After that we couldn't even watch a TGI Fridays commercial without everything stopping and the camera running through it... Yeah if I see that effect one more time I may puke.

Charlie's Angels 1 (and I presume 2) are also films that used bullet time. *shruggies* but they aren't to be taken seriously anyways, just mindless semi-fun action flicks. Not on the caliber of Pirates... mmm, just saw that yesterday, finally a damn good action-adventure
