So I am doing this for a school assignment, mid term actually. We are supposed to make a futuristic room, I choose a bar.

This is basically my first test render for the liquor bottles, that purple thing is the liquor holding device with its default material. I will texture that with a grungy type texture later. The stuff behind the bottles are neon lights. I am using mental ray to render it.

Tell me what you guys think!

UPDATE!

I have everything unwrapped and textured, as well as some lights and even some fog/particle fog.

However, if anyone knows a way (or can point me to one) of making it look like dust is floating around, it would me much appreciated!

Problem!

Ok, so as you can see in this render it is supposed to be a space scene outside, thus the floating windows, however for some reason the wall that blocks the view of the space scene is not being rendered.

The space scene is just a geosphere with a star texture applied to it.

Any suggestions?

What program are you using for modelling/rendering? Maybe your lights aren't setup to shine on the wall (You could probably add some more low-power ambient lights to the scene anyway, to soften shadows and reveal more of the scene) or perhaps your normals are messed up?

General critique:
The refraction of the glass bottles looks pretty nice, even if it's not entirely realistic. As long as your teacher isn't really picky, it should be okay. Also, you could probably make a few different types of bottles, maybe just by scaling them differently, to add some more variation to the scene.

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order, like they should be.

Haha well I figured it out. Somehow the material editor got confused and merged two materials. thus somehow making it invisible, so i reset those materials and am back in business!

@Venge

Thanks, I was thinking about changing it up a little, I am makin some quick renders (well not quick) for class tomorrow, however after that will change some up a bit!
