Hi Everyone,
I'm Angelicgodz and i just stopping by because i was curious.. if im not a game dev kind of person and i have a team 2+ who does, is realm crafter engine is easy to use?

Just Couple question.

1. How do i get the Engine if i purchase?
2. Can i purchase by Credit card or paypal?
3. I would like to known if Realm Crafter Engine can make a Game Similar to Runescape.. Map Terrain,Npc,Quest(reward),Teleport,Level,Skill,Money,Non membership features and membership.etc
4. So does the player just create a account in my server and then they can play?
5. How can i let my friend or release to the public?
6. I wonder is it work if i make a Official Website and Let them See my Server Status,Register,Download my Game ( What do i need to give them in order for them to play? )

Thanks Everyone,

Regarding,

Chances are you'll get a download in your account

TGC let you purchase via Credit Card and I think you can do paypal as well (but don't hold me to that)

I don't know much about Realm Crafter, but I know it has a restricted amount of features, RuneScape has taken an aweful lot of programming and skill to pull off - MMORPGs can be quite difficult to code, so I doubt you'd be able to have the same features (you won't be able to play through a browser) never the less it doesn't stop you from making a game for fun with it or practicing other aspects of game design.

Just bear in mind making a good game isn't having an idea and using a click and drag game maker - such game makers have a reputation of people eager to making an Uber game with no experience, little design and little effort, unfortunately there's a level of effort needed and not to mention the restrictions some click and drag game makers have (hence some people prefer to code...but then MMORPG coding is quite complex itself)

1. How do i get the Engine if i purchase?
You are emailed a direct link to download it from your REALMCRAFTER account.
2. Can i purchase by Credit card or paypal?
Yes
3. I would like to known if Realm Crafter Engine can make a Game Similar to Runescape.. Map Terrain,Npc,Quest(reward),Teleport,Level,Skill,Money,Non membership features and membership.etc
Without you editing the source No, it can do Terrain, maps, npc, quests, teleport, levels, skills, money but non membership and membership would either use the source or using lots of scripting and a MySQL Database.
4. So does the player just create a account in my server and then they can play?
They have to download the client, then just make a account create a character and play yes.
5. How can i let my friend or release to the public?
You hit Build game, then send them the client files. you obviously need a server to host the server files though.
6. I wonder is it work if i make a Official Website and Let them See my Server Status,Register,Download my Game ( What do i need to give them in order for them to play? )
If you program the MYSQL and the website to allow this then yes. www.apoc-online.net do this and they used RC to make the game

Hope that helped Just ask for any more info

I really really don't want to burst your bubble or anything like that but I feel like it should be my duty to tell you this. I spend the 100 big ones on this program and was horrendously disappointed. While the demo is extremely limited, (which I figured was just because it was a poor demo) the full version does not go much further. The choice of models is limited and customization w/o a good bit of knowledge in not only scripting, but modeling and animation format conversion is difficult. There is basic documentation for setting up servers and databases, but again, with a fair amount of prior experience needed. Lastly, of all the mmorpg's I've seen footage of out of this program, they are all very cookie cutter (Apocalypse Online could be an exception although I still notice a lot of the rc graphics style). I spent a good amount of time trying to get two clients to connect in a basic demo and got nowhere good. I've created better multi player tests hard coding in dark basic than realm crafter. You're new, but anyone who knows me here knows I am definitely not what you'd call a good coder.

Then again, thats just my opinion, wont be offended if anyone has praises for it I'm more mad at myself for taking the chance on the program. If it's legal (which I doubt it is, maybe someone can enlighten us on this subject), I'd be willing to sell you my copy for a much more accurate price.

[Edit] To be fair, this is RC Classic I am talking about not RC Pro which looks more promising.

Yeah, my experience with these kinds of programs (Not realm crafter, just general) is that they don't live up to expectations. Besides, why do you think that there aren't that many succesful MMORPG's? The best two would probably be runescape and WoW, others would include everquest, eve online, and Conquer. Those are the only MMORPG's i can think of. Why? Because they're incredibly hard to make. Do you have any experience with networking? mySQL databases? A dedicated server computer?
I mean, if you know/have all that, then i'd say your on your way.

If you really want to make a game like this, i'd suggest you
1. Get Dark Basic Professional
2. Read up on mySQL
3. once you have a firm idea of how to program databases and environments in DBpro, you should try writing up a simple client and host program.
4. If you get that done, then you might want to invest in a server computer.
5. Get a team together, plan, plan, plan, develop.

ok on realmcrafter, i made a zone, i made a portal to the plains, and to my zone and vise versa, how do i get others to come play on it to check it out?

i try to build a full server, client blah blah blah, and it keeps saying complete! Required files are in the /server folder, or what ever folder, the help doesn't say how to, the website help doesn't say how to, nothing does.
