Read what he said. He said "constructive criticism" is good, you just gave criticism without any reason.

Gangsters do get a lot of action.

DMK, I doubt you are going to make any friends making juvenile comments everyplace you go. Some people on this forum are interested in making games, not just wasting time typing the first thing that they think of and not listening to anybody.

Which you certainly won't do on these forums. I've had complaints about your attitude DMK so take a little time out to reflect that gratitude and niceness go a long way.

stop with the sarcasm and listen to these mods they were made mods for a reason, to keep the peace and right now you're crushing the piece into small pieces and putting those pieces in a box and watching it float away and...(the list of what you do to the peace gos on and on)...

Great work sam you have inspired me to try to make characters, I hope I can do as good as you.

nice, looks really good. the one thing i would like to comment on tho is the size of his jacket sleeves. They seem a bit to large for his arm, maybe just scale them down a bit. other than that it looks great!

Thanks Bendak11, not much progress on anything, been doing a lot of writing and not much modeling. I did make a pretty render though.

I'm pretty sure that after the chicken is run over by the truck everything is going to go downhill. Pig grabs the sword in his mouth and goes crazy.

Here's a shot of the gangster with his normal map.
Normal map created in Xnormal with a highpoly sculpt made in 3ds max.

That closeup looks great. I wonder what he'd look like with some normalmapped beard stubble to give him a more rough detective type look. Just a suggestion.

Don't just say No it can't be done. Think outside the box.

Ok, been suffering through getting all the rigging good on this bugger and I'm really sick of it, my main problem is that the trench coat is a separate mesh from the gangster body, so rigging is twice as annoying. The only upside to this that the gangster is essentially 2 characters if the trench coat is alpha'd out. Every time I fix a vertex something else comes up but here is a pic. Gun position will be fixed.

Hope you get it figured out. I am planning on buying. However, what happened to his face in the screenie?

Looks good. You should attach the coat next time to the rest of the mesh so selecting it as a different object doesn't have to happen, make everything a hell of a lot easier including the UV.

And a picture of the gangster, he works very well, until he crouches... at which point his trench coat goes crazy. I might try to fix this, or just give him away.

Sorry my post came right after your building post. I was referring to your gangsta character. Was hoping you could work it out so that you would be able to upload it to the store.
