I tried to put the bloom shader in the "Civilian Male" model of the "Model Pack 4" and it worked!

Yeah, it works, but with some shaders it looks very wierd!

Try the water shader with a character! (It's very funny)

Hm. I guess the bloom shader would make for a good ghost-type character shader if modified a bit.

Why not? Zombies doesn't exist so putting Halfly-dead undead people won't be very bad. LET'S BE MORE CREATIVES!

Wow, I downloaded these ages ago for fpsc, but i just forgot. Did you just place the shader.fx file in the effectbank folder?

Yes, only that. You can also put it in a custom folder, but it has to be in the "effectbank" folder.

This doesn't work for me. The ZIP I downloaded was UltimateShaderPack1.0finale.zip. I unzipped it with WinZip, and copied each of the folders inside the unzipped folder (such as: object no lighting), and then I pasted them in my FPSCreatorFree/Files/effectbank. Then I used the entity Control Door (auto) (dynamic), which requires a key, then I gave that entity the effect Fresenal Water.fx, then I playtested but no shader was on the door. I have the right system specs, and a 7300 GT Geforce Nvidia graphics card. Could someone please help me find out, and fix what's wrong?

Water, doesn't work good in fps creator. I makes the texture move, that's all.

EFFECTS THAT WORKS:

-02 - Hologram 1.2
-03 - Phong Hologram 1.0
-05 - Offest
-09 - Grass 1.0 (NOT TESTED)
-15 - Snow (WORKS VERY GOOD!)
-16 - Parallax 2.0 (NOT TESTED)
-18 - Cartoon
-21 - Bloom (WORKS VERY GOOD!)

Some effects (like the water) needs some coding in DarkBasic Professional, the only fix for this is change some parameters of the source code of the FPS Creator

The graphics card isn't the problem, you have a 7300 GT Geforce Nvidia and I have a worst one.

Do shaders require light hitting them to make them shade?

Then this doesn't work in my game, does this require a specific version of FPSC?

What effect doesn't work? Have you disabled the Pixel Shaders in the options of FPS Creator?

They are only shader effects, they don't need a new version of FPSC.

Well, I don't like to spend much on game creation software, anyway I don't really need shaders, I'll just use efxMod when they finish the new version. efxMod + Lemur V2 + Decent Graphics + Good Scripts = Uber Multiplayer Game... .

And no offense to EFX and Lemur, but my definition of "good scripting" rose up considerably with Ply's Mod...

efxMod works in the free version of FPS Creator? Because if it works, the free version isn't very bad!

I'm going to try it, if they make an installer, because I mess up every time by accident . Probably though, it has all the files that need replacing, so most likely.

when I use shaders the framerate is fine but the segments start flashing and it screws up the look of the game.

Maybe that's because your graphics card hasn't got the minimum version of pixel/vertex shader. The minimum version is Pixel Shader 1.4 Vertex Shader 1.1.

Or maybe is because you have an old version of FPS Creator.

Download "3D Analyze" from: http://www.3dfxzone.it/files?object=3dfx&objid=100 and use it with the FPSC-Game.exe. Check "Emulatie Pixel Shaders", it should work!
