Recommended PC Specification
Window 2000 / XP Home / XP Professional
Pentium 4 2.66 Ghz (or equivalent)
1GB RAM
1.4 GB of Hard Drive Space (+ space for created games)
DirectX 9.0c
DirectX 9.0 compatible Sound Card
DirectX 9.0 compatible Mouse and Keyboard
DirectX 9.0 compatible Video Card (3D Hardware Accelerated) with at least 128MB of memory

This is my PC Specification
Windows Vista 32-bit
Intel (R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7300 @2.00GHZ
120 GB storage space
DirectX 9.0 compatible Sound Card
DirectX 9.0 compatible Mouse and Keyboard
Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator
Maximum Graphics Memory: 358 MB
Graphics Memory in Use: 132 MB
Processor: x86 family 6 Model 15 Stepping 10

It seems that they need to change the system requirements for FPSC.
I\'ve made many small levels and they all lag in both test game and buildt game. Even a level with only one 3X3 room and no entites can lag. How do I fix this?

Do you have an on-board processor? Also, I recommend using a mod such as S4Mod, as it greatly increases the performance of your game....

Is that an Integrated graphics card? If it is that is probably your problem... Fpsc lags on my laptop with an integrated graphics card...

It is a intergrated Graphics card. I don't understand why anyone uses them when you can get ATI 2400's for £20 on ebuyer.com...

Maybe you have put the energy saving in control panel to save energy? That could cause it to lag.

Yeah but i generally thought FPSC had a bit of a lag problem anyways. So it could be a bit of both really

it does bkinsman even a hardcore Alienware gets brought to its knees if you have too many high poly entities and characters.

Basically it will lag because your laptop can't support it very well, A desktop PC is better because you can install a graphics card, this is what i use FPSC on cos i don't have a laptop , there is no way around it unless you drop the preferences down to low this might provide a little less lag but the only problem then though is the game won't be graphically good.

FPSC tends to lag anyway, but it does lag very much on my laptop with Integrated graphics card...

Try not to have too many active entities. Only spawn enemy characters when needed using trigger zones.

FPSC is famous for lag. Unless your game has no entities, is on static light mode, no shaders, no lightmaps an your computer has anVidia 9 series graphics card and an Intel Quad processor you will get lag.

Just kidding.

Lag will still happen no matter your PC's specs, it natrually lags with bigger maps, with more entities, I usually get my FPS in the 30s . I recommend degrading your version (to do that just install an old update, just make sure the update works with your scripts, and has the features you want), or getting an anti-lag mod. I believe the lag is hardcoded into the engine, but lower versions of FPSC around V1.8 don't lag as much gets FPS in the 50s I heard somewhere.

Especially low end graphic cards (i guess the same applies for onboard graphics) tend to lag a bit more on vista than on xp....
to find out if your problem is especially with fpscreator you can always test your game and uncap your framerate with the X key while testing. But from your description i guess it's your graphics card.

I am Jacks complete lack of surprise.

but some games of higher quality like BF2 work on high settings and new games like COD4 on low settings.

very low but it doesn't matter with S4mod because of the timer system that is impemented in Airmodv.06 that in integrated into S4mod.

It doesn't make a difference if Vista or XP on speed, but Vista is supposed to process easier for a bit less lag I'm pretty sure.

Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator = bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad (breathes) bad, bad, bad, bad, bad for gaming and FPSC (its so the system doesn't crash because of the lack of a graphics chip)

Get a NVIDIA or an ATI for better preformance.. or just get a new computer

...vista rocks either way

The same as the same laptop running XP minus 0.002 FPS = probably the same.

Dar13: Even if it wasn't made for Vista if the version of Vista is the right one it won't lag at all.

My computer is currently a laptop.
I will get a computer for gaming next year.
The 1.12 update was supposed to integrate the engine into Vista.
I lag more with trigger points.

Get S4mod, im running FPSC with it on my laptop (until i get a new desktop) with an integrated graphics card and it works okay. I usualy get between 20-25 fps on medium textures and quick light mapping. not the greatest fps and it does dip at points, but overall S4mod really helps alot.
