Ive seen a few post around over the years titled "My First Model" or "Ive just started learning to model this is what I have made" and it got me thinking to when I first started, looking at complicated menus, not understanding the terminology so I decided to have a hunt around for my first attempts all those years ago. Looking through them I thought to offer some encouragement to the newer guys I would post up my earliest model and then the model I am most proud of. So here goes.

My first model, A space ship 484 polys ( please bear in mind this was made around 6 years ago ). It was even rigged and featured nine different textures of various sizes.

A lot of learning, following tutorials, downloading other models to see how they where made and a LOT of practice later.......

The model I am most proud of, I submitted this for review at turbosquid and was awarded 5 stars.

Please feel free to do the same. Just remember to be honest and give a time frame to when you started.

I give up with this banner thing as it never seems to work for me. I will now stop wasting mu time.

Agh, this was my first model, I was way into modeling guns back then. And this was right about the time I joined TGC, I bet some of the people on here saw my thread and commented on it.

So these are probably some of my first models ever, notice the horrible edgeflow and whatnot Still, I'm quite fond of them.
First ever model I did.

One of the ones I did a little while after that:

And then my 5th model or something I think this one is.

If these images appear huge, I'm sorry I just couldn't be bothered to size them down (Darn my lazyness!).

That's quite an improvement Frap xD, I think it's cool that your first model was a plane too.

Alucard has a nice improvement as well ^^.

My first model was a spaceship that I made for a game called Escape Velocity. It's super old and I don't have the program I used to make it so I can't render it to a bigger size. This looked bigger on the computer it was made for though xD.
I probably made this...about 8 years ago I believe.

I'm probably the most proud of this model I made about a year ago.

Note that this degree of improvement doesn't necessarily take 8 years, I didn't really focus on modeling until something like 3 or 4 years ago.

Please dont forget we are judging no one on any model they have created whether its there first or latest, If you wish to divulge any errors please do so so that others may learn.

Interestingly both alucard, accoun and myself have stuck a theme more or less.

Please for the sake of the newer members/ guys learning put a time frame on the first to the latest.

I give up with this banner thing as it never seems to work for me. I will now stop wasting mu time.

Well, I started about 3 years ago with 3D Canvas, then moved to Blender 2 years ago...

Here is (I think) the first 3D model ever made by me (August 19, 2005 ). It's just the "torus" primitive from 3DC, scaled to look like a blackhole.

Here's a bobsled track I made for a school science project about 2 1/2 years ago.

A lovely cabin and a mountain scene, shortly later:

And then I started learning Blender, and made a few cars:

And since finishing the Lamborghini (almost 9 months ago), I have been working on several projects that never really got finished yet, as well as doing some work for MISoft which I am not at liberty to show you all right now.

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order, like they should be.

Ooh nice progress, well I guess it's my turn (there's a lot of images - I'll reduce them if asked, but I had quite a few models to kick out before I got where I am - I was a slow learner, but I got there - so if something don't go right, don't worry - it's all in good practice):

I don't have a pic of my VERY first model, but I have my first render:

A head:

Another head:

A character:

Sephiroth:

A bin:

A ship:

Another Aeris:

A car (never got finished):

Yojimbo

Character:

Court of the Frog King (for a competition...guess what I didn't win. ):

A Demon:

An Orc:

Low Poly Demon Prince

Most Recent:

Seemingly everyone's posting their latest work as well, so I might give this some context as well.

This is me modeling a year ago (first model ever)

And this is currently my most recent work in progress (Look for a thread soon )

My first render:

My first attempt at a humanoid model (incidentally I also think this is probably the best render I have done, the model is really simple but I think the texture turned out quite effective):

Haven't really done any serious 3D modelling in the last 2 years, keep meaning to get back into it but never get round to it .
