Kron Job

Story: The year is 2506, and former Major Max Brody is serving hard time in a mining work camp on Centauri 12, a fallen hero falsely imprisoned for protecting his soldiers against corrupt military brass. His fortunes change when Brody is discovered to be a "Kron Job" - a human with the capability to survive dimensional travel. In exchange for his freedom, the same regime that imprisoned him offers him one final mission...chase Col. Lex Oxium across the time space continuum and eliminate him before he acts on his diabolical plan to rewrite history and wipe out the human race.

Brody accepts the mission...one that will take him back to early in the second millineum, to Nazi Germany and finally, Ancient Egypt, where he must unravel the mystery of Oxium's plan and stop the destruction of the universe.

Okay -- so this is my first crack at building a game in FPSC. Below are screenshots and attached to this post is the game script for the first level. I'm interested to hear if the humor in the script works (realize it's subjective). I'd also like to here how I can improve the level. Most of all, I'd like to hear from others what they would tell a noob like myself. I've read the manual and have the official community guide. I've discovered some of the important tools - Firma, MagicFPS, Signs, etc. I'd appreciate guidance on how to make the AI work well and what to avoid. Thanks for taking a look at this WIP.

** Big shout out to cosmic prophet - his work is featured heavily in this game **

I like it.

The purple lighting really makes it resemble some Covenant stuff from Halo.

Any other screens?

12 Monkeys meets The One meets StarGate, It's about time !

I love your level design, all items present seem to have some kind of purpose at housing and maintaining those generators. Now you've established a high standard your going to need to pour the same amount of care into all your other environments.

Good luck! and keep it up

Gents - thanks for all the encouraging feedback. As Wetham_ advises, need to pour a lot of love into the new levels and I'm just not satisfied with anything new as of yet. I'll add more screenies when I feel I've nailed some of the new levels.

This series of shots is for the opening sequence when Brody emerges from the CryoTube after his first time leap. As you can see, the CryoTube in the center is disintegrated and an alien life form lies lifeless on the base. I'd welcome your thoughts on how I might better produce some green "goo" that would appear to be oozing down the base of the tube. I tried to use some elongated spheres with odd green textures, but I'm not sure it works.

Adding a link to a "teaser" for the game. The intro cutscene where Max awakes in the lab after his first time jump. The character animations were done using Antics 3D and composited using Cyberlink Power Director's chromakey feature.

Con Job I like the title, a lot to see for those that can, but not everyone beehives and are impressed by droning on to much, others can see the real message to a story and can shine a light on it for others to see. Ill be watching this game with very keen interest. Watch the loose edges, stray cannons can spell disaster in any conquest.
