Erm, for those that are still helping me keep this badboy in check, the second version is available for download at the same URL.

http://www.kontact-kru.com/game/Speeder.zip

Now we have 5 A.I cars, cool looking buggy models, a few bugs fixed, dust trails (set up to be customisable later on ... but I've kept the max amount of dust low for low-end users), and .. the best thing of all, I've made one bug even worse!

Now with 5 cars racing head to head, the random fly into the air bug is even more prominent, but overall its looking a ton better.

Let me know what you think and how it performs. If anyone experiences a much lower frame rate because of the dust trails, let me know, and I'll make sure they can be switched off.

ADDED NOTE
For those that didn't see the original post/demo, you can't control anything. It's just a rolling demo controlled entirely by the computer, just incase you get confused as to whats going on.

ALSO
There is still the random bug where it thinks there are bumps where their seemingly arent. This same bug causes another bug (the stuck and constantly blowing up bug) when it looks like the car is fine, but it keeps exploding. Its actually located beneath the ground (I think) hense it keeps blowing up. Two bugs on the list to be sorted.

55-65 FPS
P4, 1.6 GHZ
GeForce4 MX 440 PCI
640 Megs SDRAM
The Red Car won, lol

So I get about about 5 FPS lower with 4 extra cars and some dust trails. Not bad, I say keep working on it.

When you say the red car won, do you mean it actually got to the end of the track without the whole thing getting stuck somewhere and bouncing up and down exploding lots? Or did you think that was supposed to be the end?

Cool, except I have no idea what's going on. The track seems to last for ages, and it keeps randomly swapping between cars, and towards the end it was just looping explosion noises. Getting the car to perform backflips is cool though.

I got about 230fps with my amd athxp2000+ 512mb ram and 128mb geforce4 ti4800.

lol. You can't play it. It's just a scrolling demo while I get everything in place. There are no controls. The camera follows the lead car, and the track is 1000 matrix tiles long, so yes .. it's long. So, sorry to spoil your fun, but you werent getting the car to perform backflips. It was the comp!

Stats are good though. I'm thinking high end geforce 2s are gonna be quick enough to run the final version.

When I say the red car won I meant I assume it was gonna win cuz there's no way I'm gonna sit there and watch all 1000 tiles...lol.

It'll be more interesting once you can actually play, hehe

Good news everyone! I really am THAT good...
