I don’t know if anyone has mentioned these programs before but I found them searching the web and they work really well so I thought I’d bring them to everyone’s attention here is a couple of useful programs that are fairly inexpensive compared to other programs that have the same features,

3D Coat- this is a nice little program that you can sculpt detail into your models and also paint texture to your models also comparable to Zbrush or Mudbox only $120 for commercial license
http://www.3d-coat.com/

Shader Map Pro- nice little program for generating normal, specular, displacement ,and DUDV maps, this program functions basically the same as Crazy Bumps, but Crazy Bumps is now $300 for a commercial license and Shader Map Pro is only S19.99 for a commercial license.

A blind man once asked me to describe a color, I simlpy replied, you cannot describe a color, only feel it. The blind man became frustrated and angry so i camly said, that was red-Conor Bell

Unfortunately you’re not suppose to use the Beta's of Crazy Bumps anymore it says so in the License agreement, I believe it says once beta testing is over you will be required to buy a license.
So yes it is considered piracy to use Crazy Bump betas now.

I use XNormal since CrazyBump became commercial: http://www.xnormal.net/2.aspx

It has a lot more functionalities than CrazyBump, I really like it. And it's free.

Quote: "Q: How much xNormal costs?

A: Absolutely nothing. It's free for any use, including commercial one. No price and no fees at all. If you like it, please, consider to make a donation to the help us or mention xNormal in your project."

There was a free sculpting tool, but my PC broke and I've forgotten its name. I think the guy made sculpting mode for Blender.
[noeditedit] It's sharpconstruct. Looks that it isn't developed anymore, but it's still available to download, but I haven't tried it...

Got a better idea. You can get banned for being a pirate.
Do you even think before you post?
No piracy is tolerated here.Next time read the EULA,TOS and whatever the license agreement is and follow it.Not only will you not get a ban it could save you a trip to jail.

Thanks for that link to X-Normal. It's great.

And both Nickydude and AI are cool in my book. I've seen nothing wrong done by them.

That sig gets you a ban. When you come back maybe you will be less offensive.
I am now editing/removing all posts which have nothing to do with this thread.
This thread will stay on topic from now on.

Edit:
If you posted any off-topic posts after this post you have been banned. If you have any issues with it then report me as you threatened to.
Just make sure to tell them about your poor fourm behavior as well.
If you think I will let you break the rules because you threaten me then you are quite mistaken.

Punk13@ that sounds weird, I've never had that problem before, it runs great on my PC, What's your PC specs and are you running Xp or Vista, I know if your running Vista like me you need to run it as Administrator I usally do that with all my modeling programs anyway.

Punk13@ here are the minimum system requirements, but if someone has a PC with the minimum specs its not going to run very well, I think your PC needs more ram even thought it says 512 minimum when it comes to ram the more the better, the 2 icons on your desktop one is "3D-Coat(DX)" which runs 3D-coat using DirectX drivers (the one I use) and the other "3D-Coat(GL)" starts 3D-coat using OpenGL drivers, make sure you don't have any programs running in the back ground on your PC when you try and run 3D coat, Your PC is right at the minumum of the system requirements and that might be your problem?
I haven't tried running it on another PC

System requirements:
OS: Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Mac OS 1.4 or later
CPU: 800Mhz or better
RAM: 512Mb (1024 recommended)
Video: Radeon 9200/Nvidia 5600 128Mb (256 recommended) or better
DirectX 9.0c or better for Windows, OpenGL 2.0 for MacOS

My PC specs:
AMD Phenom 9850 Black Edition Quad core CPU
4 GIGS Gskill PC 8500 DDR 2 Ram
Zotac Geforce 9800 GTX AMP Edition 512 Ram Video card
Samsung 750 GIG SATA 2 hard drive
Segate 500 GIG SATA 2 hard drive(storage)
MSI K9A2 Platinum motherboard
Liton Dual layer DVD burner 20X with lightscribe
Samsung Dual layer DVD burner 16X

So who as used 3D Coat? It looks to be the next best thing to sliced bread! Seriously! A lot cheaper than Zbrush.

Uthink@ It works really well, I've been playing with a little bit and I’m impressed with all the feature it has for such a low price compared to Zbrush and Mudbox, and there is updates with new features added all the time.
