I want to do a lightmap as per norm, but combine it with the tex map as well, so we see the texture map on the lightmap, is there any possible way to do this.

Its unorthodox, and sounds odd, but I have my reasons for doing so.

By Lightmap do you mean Specular?

fpsc uses lightmaps for the shadows in the game, then it overlays these over the textures. I think its unique in doing this, this is one reason the file sizes are so large in fpsc, its all the lightmap textures adding to the size of the level.
