Hi, I was browsing different weapons in the store and noticed that some have the gloves with the fingers cut out and some have the fully gloved hands. If I buy a combo of the weapons is it possible to use just one set of hand skins for all the weapons?

Meaning, all the weapons have the fully gloved hands or cut out gloves. Are they interchangeable?

Thanks!

Depends who made the weapons.

Errant AI's weapons all have gloved hands. If you buy Model Pack 9 or 10 (By Him), you get finger cut out retextures, and many more.

Simon Benge uses a plain bare arm model

Jon Fletcher's model pack 5 weapons use gloved hands, but once again buying the full Model Pack 5 gives you retextures. He also did a couple of Elite weapons, which use gloved and sleeved hands.

They are only interchangeable if you extract the hand mode from the weapon, extract the weapon from another one and re-rig and animate them.

Hi,

The hands are not fully interchangeable. The official weapon packs were made by three different artists with their own proprietary hand meshes/rigs. MP5 by Jon Fletcher (Freelancer), MP6 by Simon Benge (TGC Art Lead) and MPs 9/10 by myself. The three hand meshes in these packs are all quite different and can not use common textures due to different UV coords. With effort, a very crude level of matching can be done by deriving your own custom textures but it will still be obvious that the hand's are not the same.

Many FPSC users listing mixing/matching weapons from different packs as a no-no but I've seen it done to varying degrees of success. (edit: What Aaagreen suggests would also work but if you can do all of that well you probably don't need to buy weapons)

I'll answer this question too while I'm at it.

Quote: "Hi, I was searching for different weapons from the weapons packs and didn't find all of them in the store. I want weapons that were included in several different packs and I can't afford to pay $20 per pack.

Any word on when more of the weapons from the packs will be available in the store individually. For example, the gloved fists aren't even there...

Thanks! "

This also because it is up to the Artists who made the packs and not TGC who is the distributor. I believe most if not all of MPs 5 & 6 are available on GCS. I have released very little from MPs 9/10 to GCS because of various improvements I wish to make in exchange for what amounts to a higher per-asset asking price. That's why the gloved fists aren't up there.

OK now for shameless hawking of my own stuff lol:

If you buy both Model Packs 9 & 10 you will save 20%. If you buy either MP 9 or 10 you will get with your purchase a total of 70 different hand skins included (most gloved, some fingerless, some scifi and zombie and many skin tones with varying levels of arm hair). These hand textures are also compatible with my new weapons listed on GCS and the hand meshes match as well. I am continuing to add to this product line and many more weapons will be added in time. To top it all off, the new/re-released weapons feature many new animations and compatibility for source mods using Airmod 0.6+. Currently this is only S4Mod but I believe Ply's Mod and EFX Mod will be supporting this as well, to varying degrees. Oh, and some of my weapons also include animations and settings for Ply's Mod asymmetrical dual-wielding.

I am pretty good at that sort of thing, doesnt mean i'm any good at modelling and texturing. (I am pretty good at modelling, but you get my point)
