Hello everybody,

here is a render image of a low poly model which is going to be used with FPSC. As you can see it's a grave. I just want to know your opinion of the model. Oh, and what do you think of the texture? I must say it looks OK but texturing isn't my strongest point and I would like to know is the current one good enough to be used.

Thanks in advance.

Not bad, I think you should make the ground bumpy so that it looks like it's rising up a bit.

I suggest either Airbrushing or using Dodge and burn to lighten/Darken some of the edges on your UV Map, this will make the texture stand out a lot more and show the shape as well, adding a scratch layer on top will also add to the realism!
Also it is a little too low poly in my opinion, you could do well with a chamfer/bevel on some of the edges on it and still maintain the low poly'ness of the model.
Also if the cross is the material is rock (Which I'm guessing the texture is) then the cross is way too thin, as if it was rock that would probably be too easy to break, so just scale it a little bit in the X axis (In other words, make it thicker).

Yeah, you may want to put separate textures on the cross and the dirt. Maybe make the cross marble or granite?

Good points. Unfortunately I'm limited to one texture with FPSCreator.
The cross is supposed to be wood. Apparently I must improve the texture to make it really look like wood.
Ground in front of the cross is actually a little bumpy. I think I must rise it a little bit. Thanks for advice everyone!

I believe your single texture limit would mean that you are limited to one UV Map per model? Or am I mistaken? Because you'd simply texture different parts of the UV map appropriately...

Sure it means one UV map. The texture really does need improving.

Changes made to model and it is UV mapped. I'll texture it tonight. I haven't got time for that now.

Ok, here are the model and texture redone. This time the cross does look wooden. What do you think?

I get your point Alucard. I should lighten and darken the edges and make it look a little more grungy overall.

Cong! FFS get rid of that horrible sig, it's way too huge, and you don't need to bother mods any more than they already probably are by other people to get your signature change! I mean come on!
