In 1999 the world waited anxiously to see if their clocks would recognize the year 2000. Fortunately for them, the clocks moved on without a hitch.

Eight thousand years later humanity must wait again, but nothing lasts forever...not even time.

The Year 10,000 is a Sci-fi game with a twist not yet seen in many games. Nothing lasts forever, and by that I mean time. When time disappears there is nothing to hold the universe in place, and because of that, humanity must fight to survive. They must fight to survive against the eyes in the dark.

The game uses low frequency sounds along with fake climax to add suspense. I intend to add fake eyes that appear, then disappear for the first while, before the beasts show themselves. I'm also hoping to add background noises like things being dropped and heavy breathing to keep the player on their feet.

My Aim
There to things I'd like to accomplish in this game:
1) To use the players own fears in the game (e.g. spiders, heights, the darkness,etc...)
2) To bring dinosaurs into the futuristic world.

The Eyes in the Dark

I've always wanted to bring dinosaurs into a Sci-fi game. The Year 10,000 puts insane futuristic weaponry against the claw and tooth of the T-REX.

Nice idea, good premise and like the screenshot.

The game is already shaping up to be better than this game

Have you thought about the dinosaur aspect of this. There are no FPSC ready dinosaurs around and TGC have only provided an animated bi-ped skeleton suitable for humanoid characters.

Unless your a talented 3d animator I would check these threads out for getting some skeletons more suitable for dinosaurs.

You seriously need a T-Rex though.

Yeah, I love Dinosaurs in a futurisitic world, like Gunman and turok. Too great games.
