I am still looking for a laptop I have purchased and returned a Fujitsu and a Toshiba as both ran tool low on FPS. I was reading the review from CNET on the Dell Inspiron 8500

100-111 fps @ 1920x1200
170+ fps @ 1024x768

The one problem is the widescreen. Forget running full screen dbc games I haven't found many that are playable. They just run too slow.

I think its where the image it stretched to fit the wide screen.
I have a simpleish 640x480 2d game that runs at 700+fps in a window but ~200fps in windowed-full screen.

Specs - pentium 4 2.0
nvidia geforce 4 4200 go 64mb
512mb ram

Watch dells prices their standard comps can be quite cheap but upgrading the ram by 256mb can cost £110 when buying the ram seperatly and installing yourself would cost £30.
