How can you make it so the sprite is replaced by something like a wavy thingy but only the sprite not the transparent bit.

Wasn't really clear was it? Like turning a man opaque green with little waves without changing it's outline or going into the transparent bits?

The thing is, 1.i dont think you can make AVI bits transparent and
2.i want to use sprites

You can make animated sprites. See the CREATE ANIMATED SPRITE
command.

yeah i dont think you can do it in dbc without making a whole new bitmap
