You may wonder why I'm posting a separate thread for this even though I have it in the compo thread, but I want some C&C and you don't really get much of that in that thread, so I'm creating this thread made for just that.

So this is my entry. The character is about 2680 polygons (Quads, about double that in triangles) and the gun is somewhere around 1200 quads.
I have the gun textured, and it's my first fully textured model really, and I am quite proud of it And also, I have now fully rigged the character (Again, first rig ever) and that is pretty awesome since he now can dance!
And the character is fully setup with a very clean outliner and a generally good setup, these models will after the compo be available for free (Rigged, maybe animated) on TurboSquid just waiting to be loved!
And I do believe that someone could use it for FPSC or DBP, they're probably low poly enough.

So here's the current Screenshots, I will post updates when I... update the model? I guess.

Character wire:

Gun UVs:

Character UVs:

Finished textured gun renders:

Scaled down gun Diffuse map:

And now something you people watching the compo thread haven't seen yet. The character fully rigged!

Character rig:

With the center of gravity CC and the elbow and the arm CC's pulled down slightly, you'll see that it deforms quite well:

Showing one of the many custom attributes I have on the rig, with a simple command I can bend and deform the fingers easily:

EDIT: Oh and if you didn't notice, I am very proud. But still, C&C if you see something!
EDIT2: Oh and all of the textures will use 2048x2048 maps and I will not normal map them or specular map them at all, well maybe spec map it though. We'll see.

Looking very nice man , Although I have some CC..

The things that are bothering me are his arms they looking a little weird but I guess you specially made that for the animation ?
The gun texture is awesome but it could use more details.
Also you going to make the high poly version of the character ?

The rig is very nice btw. Can't wait to see it textured.

Rise and shine Fpsc x10...rise and shine.

Yep, those can be bent and manipulated very easily with the Control Curves.

That I do agree with, but as I did model it from a reference (I would show it but I think I accidently deleted it from my harddrive and I can't find it again. Darn) where the texture also had very little detail And I'm not all that good at making up gun details that fit good. It's just a practice thing though I'm sure.

As I said I won't actually normal map this character, as this model will be more of a texture practice than anything else so I'll try to refrain from using normal maps to get detail.

Thanks

I've been working hard on the texture for the character and it's looking pretty good so far, not sure if I can finish within the deadline of the compo though since school is eating up all my time but I'll still finish this.

(Shameless bump after only five days, I know I suck)
