I'm having a problem with the attached model.

When I load into DBP (in .x format using Panda's Exporter for Max 8), the free hand (without the gun attached) and the gun itself are mirrored in the z axis (fingers facing me instead of away from me). Also, what appears to be the left arm in Max 8 viewport is the right in DBP (and vice versa).

Any help is much appreciated

P.S. The models are animated using bone-skin animation.

I belive its a Compile error.
I aint used panda for awhile, although its had its trouble exporting animations into Direct x format.
Why not try and download Softimage | xsi 6 mod tool.
its free and can import 3ds, to direct x. And I guarrante, its a Animators freind for sure, therefore, like max, it was designed for animation.

Many thanks for that LT Tatters - I'll be sure to try that xsi mod tool (although with my current dial-up connection it'll take a few days).

Oh my lord. I had the exact same problem for so long. See http://delvarworld.com/stuff/handisaster.jpg , those are supposed to be holding the guns, not backwards. Unfortunately I don't remember exactly how I fixed the problem. It was a huge source of frustration for me and it took quite a while. I'm pretty sure that after the 2nd or 3rd remodelling and 4th or 5th re-boning it exported correctly.

Basically, you're doomed.
