Dark GDK / DarkGDK with other Visual Studio?

I have Visual Studio 6.0 Professional. Is there a way to set up DarkGDK to work with it or do I have to download Visual Studio 2008 Express?

Don't know, but it would probably take longer for you to get it running with VC++6 (that's if it is possible at all) than it would take for you to download and install VC++2008 Express.

And don't forget to mention the amount of optimizations that you lose.

There's a good explanation of how to set-up the links manually in the instructions PDF that comes with the installation of the GDK. Check it out -- if it doesn't do the trick, I'd guess it won't work.
