Well I guess since the standard Google account didn't return a good enough answer I used my premium Google account and found that it can export .X so yes it is.

In "Imports / Exports" you can see that exports in DirectX. So yes it can be used in conjunction with Dark Basic Pro:

You can also use Truespace, which is now free:

For 3D object conversions 3D there is Ultimate Unwrap 3D. If the cause it's dedicated to the management of UV map, through its many plugins import / export it proves to be an excellent Swiss army knife for the management of formats. It's possible for example to merge objects or recover UV map / textures of an object and flatten them on the same subject but animate with another program ...

I'm not a huge fan of Carara - I have a copy of Carrara 5 Pro, it has good features, it just the way it works that I don't get along with.

As for exporting to .x, never tried and I don't know how compatible it is and in my experience: .x export doesn't usually mean all of your data is exported (sometimes animation can be missing, depending on the quality of the exporter)

You sir have the moral ambivalence of a mutated shrimp!

im actually a beginner, so i dont know much about 3d modelling. I know that carrara is probably a more advanced modelling tool, so what would you recommend for a beginner?
