- Need to have FPSC v1.07 - 1.09 to use EFX. Later versions not supported.

- Search for the official EFX mod thread and download EFX 1.6 from link in the 1st page.

- Backup file 'FPSC-Game.exe' in installation directory and replace with EFX mod version

- Use left shift + Insert to bring up EFX customiser controls when in test game.

- Read 'readme.txt' from EFX download for more information.

Do you get any compatibility warnings?
What are your computer specs?
CPU, RAM, Graphics card, OS

sounds really like a problem of an old graphics card...

@gmr1923:

Well... basically you're having a problem where the water and bloom planes are being textured with the wrong stuff. The texture in front of your face... that plane is supposed to be there, cuz that's how the bloom works. It's just supposed to use a texture of what you're already looking at, with a few shader passes to make it look ....... bloomier? lol

I'm willing to bet you're not using a very good GPU.

The water takes the random texture of your segments if you do not have shadermodel 2.0

And if your graphics card doesn't support SM2.0, you get a 'decent' warning - there's a rather small list of officially supported graphic chips (in fact, there are only 34 supported GPUs - sub-versions like GS/GTO/GT or PRO/XT or whatever not included)

so, you shouldn't wonder if it doesn't work if you get such a compatibility warning
