Good morning. I have been searching the forums for 2 (yes, only 2) models, and I am having difficulty. I found a couple of posts for the models, so I downloaded them and added them to the entity bank. But when I went into FPSC and went to add an entity, the folder they were in showed up, but there was nothing to actually add. This is more than likely a PEBCAK error, but I figured I would at least ask here and see what happens.

The models I am looking for are: sword (any kind) and an axe (again, any kind). I would prefer them to be animated, but if not I can try to figure out how to animate them myself. Like I stated above, I found a couple good ones, but nothing showed up in the add entity section for the weapons I downloaded.

I am not an artist, and my attempts to actually make one of the above have failed miserably. According to the FPSC manual, animating shouldn't be all that difficult. I believe from my reading that FPSC only asks for the first and last frame of animation and then builds the rest, right?

So, if anyone can either let me know what I am doing wrong with the ones I downloaded from here, OR (alternatively) set me up with a sword and an axe, I would be extremely grateful, give you all the credit in the world, turn over my first born child, mail you pieces of my computer, and so on (you should get the point here that I would be in your debt for a long time).

And in the event you are wondering what game I am thinking about: I am going to attempt to take an old AD&D adventure module (not sure which one, as I own most of them) and try to turn it into a FPS game. I am leaning towards one of the following:

Temple of Elemental Evil
Expedition to the Barrier Peaks
Beyond the Crystal Cave
All That Glitters...

Yes, I am aware that I would not be able to peddle these wares commercially due to copyright laws and such (unless I got permission from Wizards of the Coast, but we'll discuss that if the idea turns out and the game actually works). One of these would be the general BASIS for the game, and would provide most of the actual creative foundation for the game itself.

Anyhow, I am going to be purschasing Model Packs 13 and 18 in the next day or so, and would like the two models requested herein to complement the ones in pack 18. I guess I could use the katana that comes with one of the other packs (which I have), but I am not sure if it would look right.

In closing (finally?), I appreciate everyone reading this. And I hope someone can help me out with a sword and/or an axe. Thanks all!

Buy items from model pack 18 off the store. You can buy a sword, axe, morningstar, mace, and a bunch of other awesome items.

It's not that simple. Yesterday I installed the latest version/upgrade, and when I went to use FPSC it lost my registration license. And with no option to even input my license information (I never throw anything away), I had to uninstall the whole thing, reinstall FPSC, and then reinstall all of the model packs I already have.

I cannot access the store from FPSC, and I don't want to go through all of that again. So I cannot just go to the store and purchase individual items. I am, however, willing to purchase these items from TGC or an individual modeler if necessary. I am not adverse to spending the money, so if anyone out there is willing to sell me some, let's talk.

Yes, there is MUCH more to animating than what you've been led to believe. FPSC doesn't create animations for anything, it simply plays back animations that have been created in modeling/animation software.

So yes, you can buy the sword, axe, and other cool fantasy weapons from the store for about 2-3 dollars.

BOTTOM LINE: spend a couple dollars = save yourself weeks if not months of time creating this stuff for yourself. That's priceless.

Interesting, my last post didn't show up yet....

I cannot purchase from the store. Why? When I installed the latest upgrade, the thing lost my license. And with no way to input the license, I didn't have the full version anymore. So I had to uninstall and reinstall EVERYTHING (including my model packs). So I have NO access to the store to purchase individual models.

I am not adverse, however, to spending the money. If someone has a package of the models that I could purchase for a reasonable amount, I would be willing to discuss that.

It takes time for the noob status to go away.

Did you license FPSC through the upgrade of the free version or something? I guess it's worth the extra 30 bucks to have it printed on the DVD case

You don't need a license to use the TGC store... That's sort of the whole point of the free FPSC AFIK. You can use the gimped product for free but pay for media. In fact, you don't even need FPSC at all to use the store. You can use the stand-alone version of the store which TGC announced this month.

I must be blind, cuz I didn't see this. How do you get to the store without going through FPSC?

Thank you very much. I'll download, install, and start spending right away to get the models I need.
