I have just tried 2 DBPro progs on another comp which does'nt
have DBPro installed,and neither would work.
1st one (spheremapping prog) came up with "bitmap does not exist line 6".Line 6 is "sync on : sync rate 60 : backdrop off : hide mouse".
2nd one (a card game) said "bitmap does not exist line 8".
Line 8 is "SET DISPLAY MODE 1024,768,16".
I tried copying the project file(the pymamid icon),then proj file
and all bmp's,then the whole folder to the 2nd comp,but still the
same.
I thought DBPro progs could run independantly of DBPro after they've been compiled.
Any ideas
Thanx.

@MrTAToad

No, he said that the he copied the bitmaps too, but the errors line has nothing to do with bitmaps.

@evan

Once the EXE's are compiled by DBPro, they should work as long as it has Direct X 8.1 or greater (soon to be 9.0 by patch 5.0). Does the computer you're trying to run it on have it?

It is also possible that it can't find the bitmap, and is reporting wrong numbers. Check again if it is looking in the right directory and is spelled corectly, etc.

The line number given by the error could be incorrect as well.

I think it means that it has trouble with DX though, it could be referring to the screen bitmap (Bitmap 0)

the only time I have seen this happen had to do with the bitmaps not being in the right directory/ the program couldn't find them.
Were the images in a different directory from the .exe ,and maybe, then you copied everything into 1 single directory?
just a thought?

I tried the .exe on a third comp and it worked ok,so it
must have been the comp.Either direct x or perhaps the
graphics card.Anyway thanks for your help.
