I have the 3DS Max 2009, and I want to know how do I import the meshes that are included in the FPS Creator and how to export them in a .x file with custom animations.

In that case, what software can I use for import .x files and convert them to .3ds or .max? (With the animations, bones...)

you will need somthing like polytrans ,its expensive $395-$495 ,but hey if you can afford 3DS Max 2009 it should be no problem for you .

Henry, are you sure, I believe fragmotion would do the job just fine.

well, there is no way of getting the bones retained in the model when exporting from fragmotion. It will just export it to 3ds with no bones when imported into 3ds max

Well, I have a special edition of 3ds Max 2009 so it doesn't cost too much, the original version costs about $1300!

I'll try that EXPENSIVE software. If it works, I'll buy it.

I WILL MAKE MY FPSC GAME; NO MATTER HOW IT COSTS! lol

Once you've imported a .X file into fragmotion and retained the animation data, is there not another file format you can export to which does save the animations?

Then would it not be possible to import that file format into something like Milkshape which supports lots of file formats and then export to .3DS with the animations.

I strongly suggest you stick with max 8, I'm using version 7 and it does the job just fine.

Fragmotion is the best bet by far, you *can* get it in with bones, but it involved a HL2 smd importer, which only works for 4,5,6,7 and 8.

Ooh, i dunno, because it saves you thousands of dollars? I'm using Max 9, and i have no intention to switch, unless there is something in 2009 that I REALLY need, which there isnt.

You can't spell but you spent all this cash on Max.
And you couldn't figure out how to contact Autodesk or use their tutorials.
Another Autodesk thread locked. If your copy is legit Autodesk will help you.
