You need to update/give me a valid link to Fall of the Fireflies, in the BOTB thread; otherwise I will have to remove it.

The same goes for Darkest Island. Can Luke314Pi post a link to that, too?

I'm wondering why he hasn't posted here himself? The post of FOF will be taken down until he can provide a link...and inform me of it himself.

Who are you speaking for? Luke314Pi or Butter fingers?

Links and distribution of the work of others is frowned upon. It'd be best if they made an appearance and clarified this issue...

I see that "Umbra" is in the same boat; if their is no link to that one either, it will be removed (thereby completely removing Butterfingers from the BOTB entirely).

I have also contacted Luke about Darkest Island.

I'll try to be a little helpful. Here is a quote from Butterfingers:

Quote: "Greetings!

I'm honored that you want to play it.
It's lookinga little dated now though.

new games, if you have a copy, please put it on filefront or something.. this constitutes my permission..

when it's up there, please post the link here. I lost my original when my PC went down, and I'd love a copy!"

Here is the link where he had said this on the 23rd at 1803:

So I would say this is legitimate.

Was that even necessary? Keith was trying to do things in a certain order, and he didn't deserve that kind of commentary.

KeithC, I think Butters is really busy with studio work. He emailed me about a month ago, after I had sent him a few emails, he hasn't replied since. That one reply I got, took me months to get out of him.

I go off of whatever link is given to me; as I've said in the BOTB thread, "We will not go searching for info required". It is up to the BOTB recipient to make sure their game's req's are updated.

Putting together the BOTB took a good portion of my own time; I wasn't asked to do it. So when I see Butters posting freely on the boards here, but ignore a stickied thread with his name on it...I become a bit "irrate".

I know, its annoying. I think he either doesn't care, or hes smoking some thing funny. Either way it takes too much effort to make contact with him.

Luke had contacted me about it.

Thanks for trying to help with the links everyone; but I need the author(s) to take the time to account for their entries themselves. That would show me that they still care about being in the BOTB.

Didn't IWTG: Post 2 links for both FOTF and Umbra? So I think they should still both be legitimate with or without Butter's permission. Because quite frankly I don't think he cares much for his old projects, as he is making commercial titles aswell as that Faction Conflict.

That's kind of the point of the whole matter. As I said; it's up to the author of the demo/game to provide the links, images, contact, etc.

If he doesn't care enough to reply to a thread that has been stickied, with his name on it; then why should he be in the same room with developers who do care?

Maybe he hasn't been in these boards as of late? I think he's spending most of his time in the DBP sections at the moment.

Hey Keith, thanks for making the effort to make a sticky for me about the links. I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner. To be honest, I only check into the models and media board for FPSC these days, so it wasn't through lack of care, just that I didn't even come to this board. Anyway, I appreciate you making contact.

As was said further above, I lost both Umbra and Fall of the Fireflies when my PC died last year, but I did give IWTG permission to upload the copies he had to Filefront. Here are the links :

Umbra:
http://files.filefront.com/umbraexe/;5975848;/fileinfo.html
Fall of The Fireflies:
http://files.filefront.com/FOTF+Demoexe/;11890643;/fileinfo.html

And to all the people who love to hop into a thread and slag me off for not caring, or whatever, thanks. You make my day.

Both games have been re-added. Thankyou for replying to me in person. From my viewpoint; I put alot of time into the community here, as well as my own. In doing so, I sacrifice much of my own development time (as well as time to learn my tools properly). When it appears that a member who's work I've helped showcase, by designing an entirely new section to the community here, is either blowing me off or just doesn't care....it "grinds my gears" so to speak. Almost like a slap in the face.

I'm sure that wasn't your intention, but that seemed to be the case with me.

At any rate; thanks for showing up and personally giving me new links to update your entries with.

-Keith
