Ok, I just found out something kind of weird, a friend of mine downloaded the DBPro demo, & he has a few tutorials that I dont have, even though I have the full version.

He mentioned something about a link in the help menu (help>tutorials I belive,) & I simply dont have that option. The only tutorials that I have are the first person shooter tutorials, & I have looked all over for the other tutorials that he has, & I just cant find them. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

There is a tutorial in the help files; the same one in the book. If you still can't find it, these should help you out.

The one tutorial which comes with DBPro sucks, doesn't teach anything...
And the ones in the [href]www.darkbasicpro.com/tutorials.php[/href], those are just teaching you one or two commands.
It's bad for the newbies, if there's no good tutorials.
I can't find any simple, teaching and good-for-newbies tutorials from internet.
I would like to learn some little tricks too, but
there's just no way to learn them!!!
You have to learn all by yourself, which takes time, and it gets boring...
But that's just the way i learnt to code.
One good thing is there's nice people around here, who can help if there's something i can't find out by myself.
For the classic DarkBasic, there's some good tutorials, in the www.darkbasic.com, so why the DarkBasic team doesn't make any tutorials for the DBPro? That's one thing i've been thinking...
The team should think about people who hasn't programmed at all.
The totally newbies...
So please, DarkBasic team, make lots of tutorials, including things that covers the basic things to make a game, and which covers the basic things for each game genre: car games, RPGs, FPSs...
DBPro is good tool for game making, but it's not very easy to start if you can't use this tool.

Yes, we do need some good tutorials, some from every genra. Its almost like there are no good tutorials out on the web, that will break down the code & explain each line.

The closest thing to doing that is the first person shooter tutorial that comes with DBPro, & it only does the job halfway good. It would be nice to see a few tutorials aimed towards a complete newbie, just like the book A Beginners Guide to Dark Basic Game Programming, its just, the book is aimed towards DBClassic not pro.

It can work with pro, yes, but its lacking quite a few things to be explained to allow us to make stuff in pro (like camera's.) Does anyone know of a good site with a lot of tutorials on it, that is aimed to help out complete newbies?

Nah, the tutorials found from the DBPro site isn't good.
Just something which has nothing to do with eg. RPG.

its impossible to do a tutorial for a specific genre though! there are many different ways of doing each thing that one tutorial would not be able to cover it and if there were tutorials for each genre eveyone would make the same game, with a few changes the tutorials on the dbpro site are very good because they give you some helpful information if you read the help files properly and look at each example you can teach yourself very easily.

You know whats weird???

Yes, it is almost impossible to cover every single genre, but it is possible, to go over the most common in use today, like Diablo2, or EQ, Morrowind, FF, Half Life, Doom, GTA, etc.

I guess if no one else will make them (or even consider it,) ill have to learn the code & make it myself, perhaps it will even get more visitors to my site.

I have been trying to learn the code, its just so hard because there are no good tutorials on the web for DBPro.

Also I wonder why tutorial 7 is not there yet... When the other tutorials got posted someone asked why number 7 was missing, and Rich answered "It's not finished yet.".... Now that serveral months ago and it's still not there... Why???

For everyone looking for good tutorials use the ones for the original DB. Those are really good tutorials and you really don't have to worry about the db/dbpro differences. Also the book A begginers guide to dark basic game programming is very helpful.

I dont have DBClassic, I only have Pro. I downloaded DBClassic demo, & its tutorials arnt too good (at least not to me.) I am still trying to learn how to make better codes than I have now, but its very hard to make them, if there are no good tutorials.

Those tutorials on the dark basic site are the best I have come across, so I will try to use those, & keep making my tutorials based on most of that.
