So I've been looking around in the FPSC X10 files and came across flak. I know that you can customize the flak, after all, the bazooka and grenade use very different types of flak. Instead of using a model, could you theoretically use a decal as flak or else at least have an animated model (like if you wanted a grenade to change shape before exploding or something)?
Thnx.

Has nobody tried this before, or is it not possible?

Well the flak is the model for the bullets or whatever that your gun uses (like the rocket that gets shot when you fire the bazooka). If you could animate the model of the flak and/or add decals to it, you could make some interesting weapons. You could make a rocket launcher that releases a trail of smoke, or a weapon that shoots realistic fireballs. If it's at least possible to animate the flak's model, I could make a good flamethrower. Butters made one and I think I know how, but if it could be animated I could make a much better one.

Settle for nothing but the best.

You can't use animated decals for flak.

You can use non animated decals which I implemented for my doom imp early in development before moving to a full 3D particle effect.

Next I hope to implement a dynamic lighting system using the latest efx mod that will light the environment around a projectile as it travels.

Nicely done Nomad. Your videos give me an idea...

The projectile can be set to go in an arc...can they also be set to rotate while they're in the air?

Ok so no animated decals...what about animated .x models for the flak? Like just to play one animation set over the course of the shot, or to loop a shorter animation? I could replicate an animation effect if playing animation frames is possible...
