Alucard has spoken, and this is the next contest.
Quote: "Well what I thought of was that we would sort of have a animal modeling contest, since we haven't really had a proper one before, where the only limitations would be that it has to be on a single <2048x2048 Texture map (If you even have a texture, which you don't need to have, but it obviously would help) and that it has to be under 10 000 polygons.
"

Keep it under 10,000 polygons, and 1 single 2048x2048 texture and lets see what kind of animals you can recreate in 3D!

Post your final entries in the final entry thread by November 3rd.

Do hair/fur particles count as polygons?

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order, like they should be.

I'd say it does, since the poly count applies to when it's in an engine, not in the editor.

you can still use hair textures and other hair effects, just adding tons of particle hair will make it really high poly

I'd prefer real, but something mythological (Like for example, greek mythology has some of the craziest beasts) would probably be fine.

Armor is fine. Heck, dress the animals with giant machine guns for all that I care. Just that you see that they're still some sort of animals. Not sure if a lot of people will enter this though. It was hard to think of a compo idea since most of the once I had had already been taken.

ehhh i just need something to keep me busy and away from AS phyics lol
worst choice ive made in a long time,,

the first lleeson he told us everything we've learned is wrong!!

like the fundamental law you cannot create mass/ mass/energy cannot be destroyed is wrong!

listen, a proton + proton = proton + proton + proton + anti-proton

who came up with the sylabis????

soory for my rant....

on topic////

sound armour will be great for my fella, itll be intresting what neo will come up with,,

btw why not try a weapons/robots/mechs contest/ or angel or warrior the list gose on for comp ideas

btw just a peek

I may have to join in this compo, even though I kinda suck at organic modelling

Here's my WIP:

Besides some basic human modelling, this is my first attempt at organic modeling - which I'm not very good at. Fortunately I think I've learned quite a bit from this so hopefully I've improved. This is also my first time UV mapping something other than a box. The UV map and texture didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but I can still improve it. Any C&C is welcome.

I suppose... Well maybe not trolls they're more of humanoids (And humans are animals as well I know, I'm sort of a hypocrite but I don't care. ) but the beasts like Neo is doing should be fine... Erm... I think?

You need to add energy on the left-hand side to balance it - so the Law of the Conservation of matter-energy still works.

aggh heres the wrench, the W bosons,( weak nuclear force) has a virtual particle( we cannot detect it or we will interupt it, so we go out on a limb), now for the conservation of energy the particles must collide and in that collison momentum is lost which must be transfered into a proton and a anti- proton to keep the energy the same,

ughhh i cant be bothered going ito more detail on the W- bosons, weak nuclear force, strong nuclear force and photons(energy packets)

its my friggan week off -_-
