Hey There. It has been a while since my last model thread. Today I am going to show you my Rogue model, made in wings from a concept I drew in GIMP.

The model is not yet textured.

I think my modelling has improved a fair bit But you tell me

I am using this model, concepts, maps and texture to use parallel with my graphics GCSE

3122 Polys

Ok here are the concepts:

And now the progress:

Here is my first finished hand, Im quite pleased with it.

And the done model:

A few little extras:

Cool, please tell me what you think.

Cross bow and sword is good, but your actually Rogue looks horrid. You're proportions are off, use your concept as a Reference, and never use a reference and model something compeltely different.

I actually really like that crossbow, and the dagger/sword is pretty nice as well. But Deathead's right about the character. From the views you've posted he looks flat, like the gingerbread man almost. And his arms and legs show very little shape/form, almost as if you just made cylinders and scaled the endings. The concept is pretty good, so stick to it and you'll end up with something decent I'm sure.

Ok thanks.

I know what you mean about being flat Will see to that.

So round, the shoulders, and scale the torso, and adjust legs?

Thanks

Please, if you stop by, post your thoughts

I don't feel like discussing all of the character critiques right now so I'll just leave you with a link.
There's a great modeling tutorial that's freely available at http://www.montagestudio.orgthat covers low poly character model, and yes it's for Blender, but the same rules apply to any software out there.

Cool, is that Merhunes razor?

Very nice, but as the other says, the rogue itself need some work. Keep it up!

Thanks again.

Ok just a small update.

I have thickened the muscle under the arms, shaped the wrists, made the boots a tad higher, shaped the legs slightly and thinned the hips.

Only small tweaks realy.

@GameMakerWannabe, You have to model it out in the pose the concept is like, and he looks too high in polies and also his legs are too thin.. Look at references of people, model out the person then model the clothes over the model.

I really think you should delete the entire model and start over. Make another reference image from the side so you have two angles on it, and actually follow the reference images. The way you're doing it is pretty much going by blind sight because you're not letting the image help you, and that's the thing that does look good.

Remember those old guys? They made epic renders, I think one of them was called DaVinci, and all they used was MS Paint. Sometimes it's just skill....

Ye that is, and the poly is a tad high.

Bear in mind these models are not for games, mearly for renders and artwork.

I might make game friendly versions in the future.

Just BTW: I'd make head first, the "neck part of the hood" and then hood. I think It'll look better...
And one more thing: Do you have other concept drawings than front?

Make games, not war.
