I have a set of Revelators, and need to get them to work in DBPRO. I can get them to come on in some programs, but not all. Is there some code or command I'm not including? Any help would be appreciated.

Cant say I've heard of them - very much doubt they're supported in DBPro - and I doubt anyone will do a plug-in either.

Wow I was just thinking about how you could use special 3d glasses for DarkBasic! Not that I have them or even knew that commercial versions were available, but I think I know what they are.

For the people who don't know, shutterglasses are (i think) special goggles that are used in certain 3d movies. They work by opening and closing (they don't actually mechanically open and close, they use liquid crystals to change the opacity) the left and right eyes in synchronisation with a movie. The movie is special in that every other frame is actually a shot from a slightly different point of view. It's kind of complicated, and I don't really know if I explained it well, so for those who want to learn about them I recommend going to http://www.hothardware.com/hh_files/S&V/ErazorX(2).shtml

Unfortunately, I don't know how to work them for darkbasic, as I didn't even know they existed until now.

I have a set of Revelator glasses too.

They are Direct3D compatible glasses - not specifically DB compatible. Any game which uses DirectX can be viewed in 3D with them - and that should include DB games. You don't have to do anything programming-wise to make them work as the drivers display two switching images syncronized with the glasses automatically.

I haven't tried mine with DB, but I would think that any problems will be down to graphics card drivers - DX in particular.

You are probably using DX8 or 9, but the glasses were originally supplied with drivers for DX6.

You might want to check for driver updates for the glasses with support for the version of DX you are using. If you have an nVidia card, then the nVidia site used to have a stereo driver that worked with the Revelators...

You are right TDK, and they do work great most of the time...and they used to work with the original Dark Basic. The problem now is that when I'm in my DB Pro program and I use the hot-keys to activate the 3d glasses and drivers, nothing happens. I just wonder if DB Pro, by default, deactivates the keyboard except for you're program.

That might be true when in the DBP editor, but I doubt that's the cause in your compiled exe file.

My guess is that it's tied in with something to do with DBP and DX9 support. You may have to get a DX9 compatible version of the stereo program - which probably doesn't exist yet.

I was under the impression these work with a wrapper for direct X. You should be able to get 3d shutterglasses working using your videocard drivers... well at least with an nvidia card.
