I need to know, can you add music from other games without having to deal with all the liscencing junk. I always thought it was ok as long as you gave them the credit for the music.

Well, games like Freespace 2 that have been released under the GNU license would let you use the media, as long as that's covered under the license also. You can sell the game too, as long as you can place the music as a free download (you could make the game for example, and add music as a free addon download, which is perfectly acceptable).
