I've been using DarkGDK for a while, and I've recently upgraded my operating system and now I'm having a strange, frustrating problem. I installed the August 2007 DirectX SDK, installed Visual C++ 2008 Express, then installed the DarkGDK. I've tried to load up some of my old projects and run them. They seem to work fine, I haven't gotten any build errors, but any of my games that use PNG files just show yellow rectangles on a white background. They move like their supposed to and the games play correctly. I have some games that only use BMP images and they work perfectly. What going on here? I suppose I'll have to reinstall my OS and try again. I'm running Windows Server 2008, could this be an issue?

Did you install the DX SDK before VC++, or after? You should install VC++ before DXSDK. Also, you won't have to reinstall your OS for this, promise.

I don't think it's the direct cause, but that would definitely screw some stuff up.

Who knows. . . graphics driver update?

Sounds like a graphics driver, or a hardware problem. (Video card might not support hardware PNG rendering or something)

My site, for various stuff that I make.
