So I wanted to know, what types of tutorials would you guys like done in 3DS Max, I can do really anything except rig a character model. For now that is.

Stuff like:

-Modeling work flow

-Texturing Something

-UV Mapping something

-Animating something

Or other things, post ideas or even some models that need something done that you dont know how to do and I will see what i can do!

Your intentions are noble, but how many people here actually have 3DSM? And then how many people own it legally? I have a 13 Month license for it that I got for $100. Damn I love being a college student

If you did do one though, I would like to see either of the following: Proper geometry surface flow for models of varying difficulty or animation of a bouncing ball using the Track Editor/Curve Editor.

I'd like to see all of those tutorials. Two things I'd specifically like to see are a lightmapping tutorial for 3ds max and DBP, and a multitexturing tutorial, like getting multiple tiled textures onto a mesh created in 3ds max. Even better, both at the same time. I also wouldn't want simple tutorials, those are all over the web. Modelling and UV mapping something complicated like a human mesh would be cool. A great tutorial series could be modelling a gun > unwrapping the gun > texturing the gun > animating the firing action of the gun + slide mechanics > (maybe) normal mapping the gun and using in DBP.

Who cares?

Oooh, that ball one sounds like fun! Also the multi texturing one, I use that one a lot.

I will get to work on those, one should be done by the latest at Friday considering school.

Ball one? Also, just to clarify about the multi-texturing, I meant something like a landscape that has multiple UV layers, one for grass, one for rock, etc. But not one big texture for the landscape; texture blending that can be imported into DBP so that you can have a few 512x512 tiling ground textures to texture the mesh with, and use texture blending to get them to fade into each other. Like a heightmap type thing. I'm not sure if that's what you were thinking of, I wasn't very specific with "multi texturing."

What Sid Said.

Well Ive never tried to blend textures and import them into DBP before, I thought you were talking about something like a room where you would assign different textures to the walls/floors/etc...

I think you would have to bake the texture in 3DSM in order to get something you did in 3DSM to carry over to DBP like that. You can't just bring over something like that into DBP in the way you described. Either you don't texture it in 3DSM and texture it in DBP, or you bake the texture in 3DSM and apply the texture in DBP. As far as I know, that is

Okay well I made a tutorial but I hit a snag. The audio starts fine but then slowly like stops matching up with the video, its like ten seconds off at the end. Once I figure out whats happening I will redo it and upload it.
