Hi here's my first 3D model made in blender. Tell me what you think?

By the way I made the mistake of making the cylinder with 32 segments I need to change it to 30 does anybody knows how to do this?

Looks pretty good. When you added the cylinder, by pressing space... add mesh... cylinder, there should have been a little box that said add cylinder as the title. Under that it says Vertices, radius and depth, you needed to turn down the vertices to 30, just click in the middle and move left or right to get desired vertices. It's like a slider. Hope thats not confusing and hope it helps.

Hmm. Don't know how to do that, sorry. Blender should be able to do it but i don't know how. I'm going to check into this.

Looks very good, Jna99. Did you cut the circles into the model, how did u do that. Wow noticed I haven't used Blender in a long.

Well I inserted six cylinders on the cog to guide me, then I ripped the top and bottom faces of the cylinders, and finally I subdivided and cut (lot of times...took me hours) the faces of cog to give the circle aspect.

Thought there was an easier way than that, but it worked nice job.

There is. Create a cylinder (like the gear), then make another cylinder (long and skinny, and make it the size you want your hole to be) then select the long cylinder first then the flat one, and press 'W->Difference'. I made a holes like yours in a cylinder in under 1 minute.
