After figuring out how simple is the method used for doing soft particles, I decided to implement it for DBPro.

It runs at a decent speed, and I'm quite happy with the render. However it needs the whole scene to be shaded (which could be annoying) because it uses a depthmap.

The DBP code and the shaders are attached.

That's a very nice effect - but somewhat misleading title .

I thought you'd found a way to apply shaders to particles in DBP - which you haven't. Oh well ... another feature request for Lee when I remember.

Very nice. Funny how a lot of DirectX10 features can be replicated in DirectX9.
