hey guys, frankiepawnage here, i recently got 3ds max and i am gradually learning it from a series of tutorials from 3d buzz.com
Anyway, i decided that as a little practice i would design a very basic weapon, The Mac11.
Tell me what you guys think.

dude if you really want a turkey sandwich, then make one, and make ham.sdaF?

wow that look real familiar, nice work, try makinig the body of the gun wider so you don't see the clip, in the handel, other than that it looks good. altough your missing an ejection port for shells and you folding stock is meshed in to your model. you might be able to fix this trainwreck of a model. best of luck ............lol

BUt....how many polies are these?

And also...like darimc said. Than this doesnt belongs in the models and media thread.

So it should be moved over to the 3d chat..
Which is better for you, cause than you can post whatever you want to post.
And also it doesnt have to relate to FPSC.

I still think its a very nice model!

Wire-frame when you get the chance, please.
Also you're quite good, but some things are out of porpotion. And you're adding too many attatchables that I could call it a whore. lol =)

Umm.. May I ask for ask for a side, front and top view? And a Wireframe.. Perspectives don't help I know you want it to look fancy but for me to comment on its shape and stuff is quite hard at a angle.

Frankie just so you dont get anymore model and media complaints, just send it through entity workshop as a static entity until you can get it fully rigged, you did a good job on the model, now lets see if you can texture this SOB!

An in game screenshot is required otherwise I'll have to move this to 3D Chat (or else it will be locked).

No ones complaing, all were doing is complementing and giving feedback that he deserves.
when doing art we should aim for perfection/realisim, if you're hiddenly quoting to me that I called it a whore due to the number attatchments, i`m saying that, the amount of attactments on it is large, and no weapon like a machine pistol should have that much...

Anyway the model looks good! better then me at moddeling submachine guns.

thats not really true, plenty of special ops and people who need to go on a silent mission to that.

No Matuka i was telling him that instead of getting complaints about nan in game shot (Like the models and media board requires) i told him to just send it through entity workshop and take an in game screen shot. That way he can keep the thread opened over here in the fpsc section, sorry i didnt make it clearer

I mean there one too many on it. Plus it would be rather bulky with three/four on it and as sometimes you would hold a small spare bit it in this case where the flashlight is, it would make it harder to use.
here is a example using this "crappily" drawn image.

http://www.picpanda.com/viewer.php?file=sr5o4h5amumr5u61i8k.png

As you can see the attatchable thats under the space of the gun is obstructing the user to hold it, thus meaning he will have to use one hand making it harder to use and dropping the accuracy of it, which is a important thing to have.

Anyway whatever, up to you I guess.

I think he is trying to make this. here is a good referance pic frankie, the silencer is often used as a foregrip on this model.

That looks pretty high poly for what it is. For example your gun barrely only needs one height segment, not as many as it has. The body itself looks pretty dense as well.

I have to agree...
And some of mine C&C (see image):

-Green- there's some diffrence between your model's stock and the real one. Yours looks like it had 2 layers, which is wrong.

-Red- the thing-that-moves-while-shooting (dunno the name, sorry ) could be just a cylinder that is narrow in the top.

-Blue- The things like screws or thread (? dunno again, sorry for my crappy english) on the barrel could be done on texture or normal map, and the barrel itself looks like it had <8 sides. If it's true, then you should make it have more sides rather than screws on your model etc.

Anyway: It's good that it's not a cartboard cut-out even if some parts look like it.

Make games, not war.
