Ofcourse it's sci-fi. It's the pulse rifle from Aliens. Looks pretty sweet.

Do you plan on texturing that? I want to try cell shading that if you wouldn't mind... but I need you to put some color on it and post the file up if your interested.

yes mate iv'e just started laying out the uv map now .

Its the M41 pulse rifle that Hudson uses in aliens! It looks really nice though, can't wait to see it finished.

It's looking good. The texture of the texture looks like good, solid gun metal. If I had to offer any criticism, maybe that it is a bit dull. And the things like the ovals and vertical lines near the back of the rectangular part of the barrel look a little odd, as in it's hard to figure out what they would actually be if they were geometry. Maybe a normal map would help with that, but right now I can't figure out if they're rivets/rifling what have you.

No problem. He's a rough draft of your model cell shaded. For better results I should have adjusted the texture in photoshop, but this will do for now until Iraddic gets his outline shader running so we can bring this idea into DBP.
