well, you place a sound marker, then edit it by right clicking it AFTER you have placed it where you want, then where it says "sound", click the farthest-right part of the box to open the browser and locate your sound....

hope this helped....

I'm confused, you want a voice recorder or a voice synthesizer?

I can help you with both. Audacity is a good free recorder with lots of filters, I think it's the gold standard in free audio software.

If you want a computer generated voice I believe that Vista finally added one. It should be in the accessibility options. If not you could send me or someone else you know with a Mac a text file, I'll send you back an MP3 of computer generated speech. I'm planning on using that for a game I'm working on too.

to get the voice into the game,

copy your sound file to your audio bank/user folder (make sure the file is .wav)

Place sound marker ( the blue box)

right click it

go to the sound tab in the left uper corner

browese until you get to audio bank/user (click your .wav file)

press ok
and ok again

and then there you go.

I assume Sayzme is a program that converts text to speech. Windows has this feature built in, but it probably isn't very good, if Sayzme is free than use that.

Set up your program to output the voice to a file (MP3, WAV...) You use those files in your game, you can't have it do on-the-fly text to speech in FPSC.

Killer666,

Does Saysme save the text to speach to a file?
like: "file.wav" or "file.mp3"

or does it just talk what you type?

basic instructions on voice to file:

if you want to use the saysme, then go find a program that will record what you hear, what comes out of your speakers.

when you have the recorder,
start saysme
start the recorder.
click "record"
and then make saysme talk.
then after the saysme is done with the speach then click "stop" on the recorder.

it will probably ask if you want to save it.
save it as a .wav file and save it to the desktop so you can find it.

then follow my instructions as follows:

copy your sound file to your audio bank/user folder (make sure the file is .wav)

Place sound marker ( the blue box)

right click it

go to the sound tab in the left uper corner

browese until you get to audio bank/user (click your .wav file)

press ok
and ok again

Ok.... I hope that helps,

I may be wrong but I think what hes asking is a bit more in depth. Probbably something along the lines of halflife2-character's moving their mouths when you approach them and they speak. In game speech. I don't know I could be completely wrong.
