Ydsoft team

Hello,
I would like to share some images from our game engine.
All cities are made by Mira, He's our team member, excellent modeller.

It uses lightmaps, but I am working on deferred shading and decent bump mapping. City will be much more realistic, i think

In my opinion, everybody, who wants to make a game, editor is first step to make game. So now, we are working on editor, which is similar to Far Cry 2. Have you seen it ? Its really simple, effective, and everybody can make beatiful level.

So here, there are 7 images from our game. Actually, we dont know nothing about gameplay now, Its looks like Grand theft auto game style. How I said before, we have to finish game engine first with editor.

I will add some information about our work gradually, perhaps, some tech demos for download. Its good to know, How much FPS players has, etc.

That looks incredible! If you can pull off a good FrameRate with models of such detail in DBP, then I'm going to praise you

I am working on level of detail (LOD) now. It resizes textures, which are far from player. It exludes parts of city, which are behind the player.

I get around 100 - 600 FPS, Its really simple scene. Mira always compain about polygons because, its doesnt look good, when model has less polygons. It depends, when you are.

That scene with 100-600 FPS? That's amazing... Although I don't know anything about programming what so ever so I might be talking up my butt. But still, I think it's amazing.

So, terrain LOD is almost completed.

Image attached.

It just reduces terrain polygons. It depens on camera position Now, I am going to make dynamic streaming of this terrain, so, you can make almost endless terrain. There is only one limit, Its your Hard disk

So, what exactly is that image, and what is this "dynamic streaming"? Sorry, I program in DBC and no nothing about it. It would be kind if you explained it to me...

BTW, the game images in the top post look awesome! I thought they were real at first!

TheComet: The last image is terrain LOD. Nearest terrain has for example 100 000 polygons an terrain, which is far has 20 000 polygons.

Looks very nice, unfortunantly I doubt any regular PC can play this. (DBP and detail are not really friends of eachother) Perhaps a video of it running in DBP though? Just to see how well it looks in movement?

Silvester: I am thinking of moving this project to LE (leadwerks engine), dark basic is really slow, and developer of dbpro is doing absolutly another things, then users of dbpro needs.

Josh has all things, what developer needs for modern games, and if in LE is something missing, we can talk about it all day ...

Moving it to LE sounds great, as your models are looking fantastic and I would hate to see such great media go to waste because of a slow engine. Looks great!!
