Hey i have some X10 questions, i hope its all right that i have put them all in 1 post... is it allowed?

1. what will the shaders do in X10, i can't see the difference...
2. Is it possible to trigger a light?
3. Can you make a X9 enity to a X10 enity so you can use it in X10?

I will post all my X10 questions here if that's all right with you all...

Thanks!

Gr,

Alex

1. Well you must be blind there is a huge difference
2. Yes with scripting but there is not one ready made so write it your self or check FPSC Scripts board
3. Yes you can infact many users like icycold are doing this already

I guess thats ok but everyone of them could have been answered if you would just search so next time search first maybe then you will get somewhere allot easier than if you posted here.

This will most likley annoy people and they just wont answer.

But always here to help so will do my best.

Well the water is run by shaders with out a shader you wouldn't get transparent water or water reflection/refraction it would be one colour. Also the entities use shaders to make them look better if you compare the X9 entities (which have older shaders) to the X10 ones there is a huge change basically it makes your game look more like real life.

Also to Jason's point. Google and Wikipedia are good search tools. There you'll learn about different types of shaders and can see examples. And don't forget Nicky's OFFICIAL Community Guide to FPSC.

No I've tried switching the shaders for different entities and objects too, and there was no difference other than that sometimes they would have no shaders at all. A few specific ones did work, but many didn't. I think some only work for specific types (entities or segment or whatever). I think it's an error or something, I thought it was just me at first too...
