I have a mac now, have done for a couple of months hence my large absence from this forum! and lack of work lately.

However i'm considering dual booting my mac (brand new and intel based) with windows, will FPSC run on windows booted from a mac?

First, congrats of joining the party/buying a Mac! Yes, I do think it would work, but I haven't tested it myself. But as long as I know it will work. I wouldn't mind hearing your results BTW.

Best.

Well it should be able to dual boot, but I am sad for you buying a mac.

Unless you have a power mac fpsc is going to run like sludge on your mac. Macs are no good for gaming, and I am sick of the fanboys.

An imac should be able to run it too, depending which video card you got. If you have an ibook or mac mini it will run real slow.

Jeez, what do you guys have against Mac?

I'm using one right now, runs faster than my PC and it's worse in the specs department.

Do you know anything about Mac?

If it's the new Intel Macs, it should run great. If it's a PowerMac or anything running off the PowerPC architecture, windows won't work.

So, as long as you are running Windows natively (not using Parallels or any other VMWare), it will work fine, I've tried it. =)

Inspire I use a mac regularly for video editing. All the new macs I have used run like sludge when I am just using photoshop and they are top of the line.

My Mac is so good, it does my work before I even think about it.

I come home and my work is done. That's how fast it is.

And what version of Photoshop are you running? Because the PowerPC applications have to be emulated for Intel Macs, making it go slower.

I use Photoshop 7 on the newest imacs. Final Cut runs a bit better though.

That's actually Adobe's fault, not Apple's. For some reason they stuck to 32-bit for Photoshop 7 so large images have to be constantly swapped in and our of virtual memory. It makes it painfully slow. Why they didn't go 64-bit like everything else is beyond me.

I've had a mac and I went back.
I guess I just don't like the mac flavored kool-aid.

Yeah, because you have to try and convince yourself the huge sum of money you just blew was actually worth it.
