Looks alright to me, maybe work out a few of the line flow issues in the torso/shoulder areas. Wait 'til Alucard gets here, he's the human proportion critic.

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order, like they should be.

I'm here now!

So yes, the proportions of that model does look pretty alright, I'd say that the legs are a bit too small but otherwise it's pretty good, the issue you are having is with the wireframe, on organic models you want the edge loops to flow with the muscles of that thing that you're modeling, so if you're now modeling a human you sort of want it to flow nicely through the body of it.
It might sound hard to understand or whatever but take a look at this model (Sorry for being all smug-like and showing my own model as an example, it's not perfect obviously, but it gets the point across.)

See how the edges are sort of flowing with the body? That's what you sort of want to strive for. If you're coming from mechanical modeling it might be pretty hard to get this idea into your head but keep on trying and you'll make it!

Cong if you actually size that model down it would look just like char models from Final Fantasy IV DS

thanks for the comments

aulcard thats a really nice mesh,i think for saum reason i kind of was thinking that edge loops had too goo right through the whol model that is wrong looking at your model i see like your edge loops for the muscles van be just for a certain muscle part i am struggling how too do this do you use the split polygon tool for this as i cannot get a good smooth curvature also your wireframe looks alot smoother too mine?

thank you
