hey all,
i am wanting to create a splash screen for my games, but i don't know what program i can use for it, what is the best FREE program to create splash screens, that would really help me

Make a Bitmap called splash.bmp and put this image into the folder of your build game...

i want to create a splash screen, not where to place it

and another thing, .bmp's aren't animated i need it to be animated too

Gimp, Photoshop, Paint.Net, Photofiltre ... Google.

You can't use an animated Image as a Splashscreen...

You just answered your own question. Place a story zone where the player starts.

use game cover 2 from fps free it has
-splash screen
-intro movie
-click to begin screen

very nice setup too!

import your pic 2 Windows Movie Maker and add a startup animation 4 dat....pretty simple!
