I thought I would make this thread as I have seen this question asked on a regular basis here on the fourms to help explain the problem in more detail to New Users.

First thing you have to understand is that just because you have Windows Vista installed with Directx 10 it does NOT mean your video is compatible with Directx 10.

The reason you are getting this error is that your Video Card is not Directx 10 Compatible... and even though your DxDiag test says you a running Directx 10 it does not mean your card is 100% compatible with Directx 10's features.

Here is a link to a thread of 100% Directx 10 Video Cards that have been tested so you can decide which card to get...

Hope this Helps

PS could a MOD please sticky this thread

Good idea Squalker. I can't believe how many people are complaining about this, considering it says on the X10 website that it needs at least and Nvidia 8000 series or higher gpu and in order to order it you need to check a box that says that you understand that it won't work without one...It's practically everywhere and yet...

H.K.

Good post.

I did post about this some time ago, and now I have a monster computer which runs FPS Creator X10 like a charm.

Jingle Fett, some people just don't know nothing about system requirements ''me included on this issue'' but know I know more thangs to you guys, so thank you

For all people not knowing, this topic will answer your question if you get that error, the same error I got.

Aero Files offers you high quality assets in the FPS Creatore store. Go there now.

I know. The same question is asked all of the time. Some people just don't get it.
