After several re-installs of the latest editor and patch 4.1 I keep ending up without keywords so when I code in DBPro nothing is highlighted in the editor - it's all plain text (except the numberics and strings).

Sadly RGT have been as helpfull as your average automated call handling system obly with noteably less feedback.

So I was wondering if anyone could clarify for me please how the editor reads in the keywords? What file should I place where?

I find this particularly annoying because of the sheer quantity of typing errors I make! Also I cannot bring up the help index to look for related commands... In short, I can barely program at the moment!

this happens to me with set bsp collsion height adjustment command even when i do manage to spell it right, i don't know how to fix though sorry.

You know whats weird???

well...don`t use the latest editor, or to be a little more helpfull, if the upgrade broke then go back to what you had that works, the keywords are in the editor folder in the db install, in the folder called "front end" (not keywords).

Sounds like your keywordsxxx.ini is missing or corrupt OR you've unticked 'Use Syntax Highlighting'


Its better than a poke in the eye...

It works fine here as long as I install both the latest editor files 1.09 and 1.09b.

You need the IDE update (both of them) if you install Patch 4.1 to get syntax highlighting to work again. Yes it's safe to edit that ini file, but each Upgrade overwrites it.

Procedure I have followed:

1) Install DBPro to a fresh directory
2) Install Patch 4.1
3) Install Editor 1.09
4) Install Editor 1.09b replacement exe
* no keywords *

Repeat steps 3-4 endlessly. I've not had keywords for several weeks now. I did go back to patch 4.0 and it worked fine, but when I want to release an .exe it is no good because of the ATI bug.

The keyword files are all in the same place as usual and do not *appear* corrupted.

I guess i'll just wait for patch 5.
