I was just wondering is it possible to make a weapon stop working after x amount of time and become a broken weapon if so I think it would be cool

Im not 100%, but I dont think so with the official. Maybe with a mod you could.

But I dont think i would like this as a player. I would understand if it was a melee weapon and it breaks after X many uses, but not just for having it for X amount of time.
But I dont know the context in which you would've used it so...

not unless Plystire decides to make scriptable weapons(wait a minute i think he did some minimal scripting with Ply's Mod)

I think you mean 'a lot of scripting'. Ply's Mod has a whole bunch of new scripts and he might implement weapon jamming. As Monoxide said, as a player, I wouldn't like weapon jamming either (especially in multiplayer).

Yeah, probably, you would just have to find a weapon that has an animation for a weapon like that, because when they are made, there are images for different animations. Do you know what I mean? If you didn't want to actually show the gun being damaged, you could put in a global variable so that after x amount of times, the character drops the entity and can't pick it up again. I don't know, I'd request it on the script forum.
