I really think the requisites

Quote: "1.- Ready to use in darkbasic c, pro or FPS.
3.- No limit to polygon (only your cocience)
4.- No limit to texture
4.- Render in your favorite program and > DarkBasic.
5.- Rigged (if you can)""

Are waaaay to strict. I don't want to enter, because I can't be bothered having to export the model and make sure it works in DBpro. I don't have a copy with me, and that stipulation just makes it too hard.

So, do I win, or is Neo just gonna choose another theme?

The next competition should be spacey, like try to create something celestial, like planets, or suns, or asteroids. Do you know what I mean. That would be a cool theme to do.

too bad christmas got in the way of this comp.

I think I may just begin to choose the competition themes. Unfortunately the participation has just been so low the past few competitions I want to keep things very broad and open for all to participate in. I'm all ears for ideas though, I'll search through some of the old compos and see what hasn't been done though.

how about you choose a theme and then we get to go with it. Like an underwater scene. It can have anything in it, as long as it's underwater. Or a space theme, it can have anything in it as long as it's in outer space. That would keep it open and broad enough for interpretation and yet at least have a theme for everyone to follow.

Or how about a comp where we have to make the meanest looking thing ever imaginable. Be it human or other.

I highly doubt heavymetal will give us any more entries, we need something simple that anyone can figure out.

I think robots would be fun. Mostly because my current animation project has a robot in it.

Maybe a general "future/space" competition then? You could make some future weapon or gadget, a cloud city scene with flying cars (not to be cliche or anything ), spacecraft, robots, alien monsters?

I like Venge's idea...

I will not be having a competition this month. I want to make sure things are done properly to get people interested and have an organized system. Having competitions more often did not always yield more participants unfortunately. I want this to be done properly and will prepare something in my free time to help get things running again. Thanks for your patience.

I personall think now there is no incentive to win and the challenges seem to be out of the reach of the skill level of the current user base. So far i've noticed a lot of organic stuff when it should have been kept simple.
Mike, maybe you should set the challenges and try to keep them simple, like a design your own games console challenge. Where you only have to design the console itself, not its inner workings. Thats simple and interesting enough for beginners to get involved and also has scope for experienced people to take the idea and run with it.
Or even one where you supply the model and tell the users to texture it, then its a month on just a texture which should increase the quality and the workload isn't as much to kill the spirit.
Apologies for the bump.
