Anyone know why the sprite transparency command does not work on tga or png files?

I'm stuck with using bmp files.

PNG files might be clear enough for trasparency (if it works on PNG files that is).

You have to set the transparency in your graphics package

With bitmaps and jpgs, DBPro calculates the alpha layer when it loads the files. With png and tga files, they already have an alpha layer included, so DBPro uses that.

If you want alpha with png files, you can either draw the alpha in your paint package, or use a function that will fix the alpha for you after the file is loaded. Someone else had another way to do it, but I can't remember what it was
