This may well be a Vista thing rather than GDK but...
So, I have my key press thing built and linked.
How do I change the icon?
in XP it was just a matter of right-clicking and changing the image, but I seem not to have that option.
Do I need some kind of resource file association, or am I looking in the wrong place?

cheers for any help
Sid

right clicking only chnagees the icon for shortcuts, not exes. And i don't know whether even that works for vista. To change the icon properly, I think you need the full version Vsual Studio, but you may be able to do it from Project Settings.
You could also try something like ResHacker

Ah, OK, cheers for that.
Done a shortcut for it - now theres only one exe (saves 2MB - for a simple keypress prog!!!).
Can't find anything in the Project Settings, so I guess I need to buy the full version
Thanks again

Rightclick on your project and choose Add > New Item. Then write .rc after the name and press Add. Rightclick on the .rc file and choose Open With. Now choose Source Code Editor and press Ok.

Write this code in the .rc file and compile:

ico ICON "<iconname>"

Yeah, editing resource files in the express version isn't supported.

Yes it is. You just have to do it manually.

I tried the method above, but wouldn't accept the .rc because I'm only using Express.

Well, I have the Express version and it worked...
You must open the .rc file with Notepad or something if you want to edit it.

Brilliant - Thanks CC (I'd put it in the wrong folder)
